About EB Garamond

Georg Duffner's open-source revival of the types cut by Claude Garamond in 16th-century Paris, later completed as a community project. It keeps the low x-height, gentle contrast and humanist proportions of the originals, so it excels in print-like settings: books, academic papers, literary sites. On screen it needs generous sizing, 18px or more, because of those delicate proportions. Pair it with small caps and old-style figures, which it includes, rather than with loud display faces.
