About Playfair Display

A high-contrast transitional serif by Claus Eggers Sorensen, drawing on the pointed-pen lettering and Scotch Roman types of the late 1700s. The thin hairlines and dramatic thick strokes give it a polished editorial voice, which is why it dominates magazine-style layouts, wedding stationery and luxury branding. It is a display face at heart: use it for headlines and pull quotes at 32px and above, and pair it with a quiet text face such as Source Serif or a neutral sans for body copy.
